Pregis promotes Clint Smith to director of sustainable packaging position
Pregis is taking its social responsibility and sustainability commitment to a new level with a dedicated position focused on making a greater impact on the environment, people and community.
Clint Smith, who has been with Pregis since 2007, is being promoted to director of sustainable packaging. Going forward, he will be responsible for driving Pregis’ sustainability and social responsibility objectives and implementing strategies that fall within the company’s commitment to “Protect, Preserve and Inspyre®.”
“Clint will work across Pregis’ global business to increase the use of recycled content in our materials by providing education on recycling best practices, communicating the importance of packaging within the circular economy and setting goals with business unit leaders that influence product development efforts,” explained Daché Davidson, vice president of marketing. “He will collaborate with Pregis global leadership, including plant operations and product managers to cascade best practices across the organization to meet our key sustainability performance indicators.”
Additionally, Smith will work closely with Pregis’ development teams to pursue use of recycled plastics, evaluate new technologies, licensing and identify potential acquisitions. He will be actively involved with Pregis’ industry partners such as The Alliance to End Plastic Waste, Sustainable Packaging Coalition and philanthropic organizations such as Uzima.
The announcement is the latest in a decade-plus long quest to provide the most environmentally-friendly protective packaging solutions to the marketplace.
